It is a great topic for this week’s Illustration Friday, it is ‘hoard’. I don’t hoard much, in fact I throw too much away, as I really don’t like clutter although you wouldn’t think this is you saw my desk right now. I do have a hoard of buttons, I have my collection that I have gathered over a many years of sewing and as well I have my mother’s collection. I have them in glass jars and they give me a great deal of joy in just looking at them.

That’s wonderful! My mother would keep me amused for ages with the “buttney jar” as I would call it. The fascination still holds.
What’s not to love about buttons! You capture a passion so well.
My mum and I have a slight button obsession.
At the moment we have four giant gallon jugs full of buttons, with no sign of the collection slowing anytime soon.

Hi there Sandra. Thanks for coming by my blog. I didn’t have an email address for you or I would have written personally. Please don’t be envious of my situation. I am only just coming to terms with having lost my job and I am trying hard every day to be happy about the whole thing. We too have bills to pay, and that is becoming quite a struggle so I may have to go back to work sooner than I would have liked.
I love your illustration - I collect buttons too, and I think I might have that expression on my face everytime I come across a beauty!

I have jars of buttons from both of my grandmothers, and a huge tine that was my mother-in-laws. Playing with them is my grand-daughters favorite pastime. I guess she will hoard them too someday! Very nice image.
