As you know I love reading “The Happiness project” which often leads to a lot of thinking. This morning I was talking to someone about happiness and he stated that you have a right to be happy, that all of your relationships should be working fine and that they should not make too many demands on you. Years ago we tried our hand at being  Amway sellers, Graham’s dad was in it and he really wanted us to be part of his network.  It failed miserably on our part, as we did not want to sell to other people but one of the hardiest things that I found was finding out about people’s lives. These people up to this stage had just been people that we knew, not close friends. All of a sudden you were thrown into the deep end knowing about their relationship with each other etc., knowing the ins and outs of their lives; to me this was too hard. Knowing about these people but having no real relationship with them. It seemed as too many steps had been left out and that you were not ready to be this involved in their lives.  While on the other hand, there are people that you are close to and while they are not prefect (who is) you will do anyhing for them, you will take the good with the bad, because that is just what you do. I hope that I am making sense, what I am trying to say to love someone is to love them faults all all. Why this post, because I knew that I disgreed with what this person said but I did not have the words to say it. Now that I have had time to think about it I would like to discuss it more.

Anyway I want to share this lovely photo of Liv with you. She is five now and the most amazing things come out of her mouth, It is a wonderful thing to have a grandchild their perspective on life is very fresh and true.

Hi! I’m happy you stopped by my blog today!! Your scrap pages are wonderful! I love this one with the big girl shoes, it’s so heartwarming. And the one a few posts back with the girl in the chair with the big old dog and the cat on the back–fantastic. They really tell a story—you really have a knack!

I think I get what you are meaning–about relationships. They are not neat and tidy, they are messy and funny and sad and crazy and all that, but when we love people, that is all part of it. We have grown with these people, and understand their idiosyncrasies (sp?) and accept it all as a part of who they are–and they are the same with you.

I would love to take you up on your offer to photoshop that picture of my daughter and niece for me–I’d be most grateful! (sadly, I’ve never mastered the fine art of photo fixing!) If you email me, I’ll send the pic along. Thanks ever so much!!

Smiles, Karen

I never realized that selling Amway allowed one such a peek into others’ lives! But when I think about it successful sales people-types do have a knack for getting in there, don’t they? I mean we’re talking the personal question of money here. And as I think on it, I really don’t have one really close relationship that doesn’t get messy once in a while.

Lovely little Liv. She is beautiful.
